Low Muscle Tone
Low muscle tone, also known as Hypotonia, is a condition in which the muscles have reduced tension or stiffness. This can result in a lack of muscle strength and difficulty with movements that require muscle control, such as lifting the head or maintaining an upright position.
Low muscle tone can affect a person's gross motor development and may impact their ability to perform physical activities and tasks. Low muscle tone is often present from birth and can be caused by a variety of factors, including:
Genetic conditions
Developmental delays; or
Neurological disorders
How Can You Help Low Muscle Tone?
